What is PredictaMatch?

PredictaMatch is a football prediction game where players predict match results and compete against friends, family, work colleagues and football fans from around the world.

How do I play?

Create a free account, join a tournament and submit your predictions before matches kick off. Points are awarded based on the accuracy of your predictions.

Is PredictaMatch free?

Yes. Registration, league participation and predictions are completely free.

Can I change my prediction?

Yes. Predictions can be changed as many times as you like until the match becomes locked, which happens 1 hour before kick-off. Once a match is locked, predictions can no longer be changed.

Do I need to lock in my predictions?

No. Locking in your predictions is completely optional. However, once you lock in a prediction, you'll be able to see the predictions made by other players in your league for that match.

Do I need to predict all matches before the tournament starts?

No. You can make predictions throughout the tournament. You only need to submit your prediction before the match becomes locked, which happens 1 hour before kick-off. Once a match is locked, predictions can no longer be added or changed.

Can I join a league or start using PredictaMatch after a tournament has already started?

Yes. You can join a league or start using PredictaMatch at any point during a tournament.

However, any matches that have already been played before you joined will automatically be awarded 0 points, as predictions must be made before kick-off to count.

You will still be able to take part in all remaining fixtures, but you will not be able to submit predictions for the tournament winner or top scorer once those selections have closed.

What is a Joker?

A Joker allows you to apply a points multiplier to a prediction. If your prediction is correct, the points awarded are multiplied by the Joker value set for the league. Jokers can only be used once per fixture and should be used strategically on matches where you feel most confident.

How are points awarded?

Points are awarded according to your league's scoring rules. Most leagues award points for correctly predicting a match result, correctly predicting the number of goals scored by either team, and correctly predicting the tournament winner and top goalscorer. League owners can customise the points system for their league.

How are points scored in the knockout stages of a tournament?

In the knockout stages, your prediction should be for the score at the end of normal time (90 minutes), including injury time. Extra time and penalty shootouts are not included when calculating your prediction points.

Can I join more than one league?

Yes. You can join multiple leagues within the same tournament. Your predictions automatically count in every league you belong to.

How many players can join a league?

Both public and private leagues can have up to 2,000 players. This makes PredictaMatch ideal for everything from small groups of friends and family to large workplace competitions, supporters' clubs, schools, charities, and online communities. All members compete within the same league table throughout the tournament.

What is the difference between public and private leagues?

Public Leagues can be joined by anyone.

Private Leagues require a join code or invitation from the league owner.

How do I create a league?

Create a league from the Leagues section by choosing a league name, selecting a tournament and deciding whether it should be public or private.

Can I leave a league?

Yes. You can leave a league at any time from the Create / Join League page. If you leave a league, your predictions remain unchanged but you will no longer appear in that league's standings.

Can I change my league's rules or points?

Yes. League owners can customise their league's scoring rules from the Create / Join League page. You can change points awarded for match results, goals predicted, tournament winner, top goalscorer, and the Joker multiplier. Rule changes can be made up until 1 day before the tournament starts, after which the league settings are locked.

How do I invite friends?

Share your league join code with friends, family or colleagues. They can enter the code and join instantly.

How are league tables calculated?

League tables are ranked by total points scored. Additional tie-break rules may be applied when players have the same score.

What is the Global Leaderboard?

The Global Leaderboard ranks every player in a tournament, allowing you to compare your performance against the wider PredictaMatch community.

How are the Top Goalscorer standings decided?

Players are ranked first by the total number of goals they have scored during the tournament.

If two or more players have scored the same number of goals, the player with the most assists will be ranked higher.

For example:
Player A: 5 goals, 3 assists
Player B: 5 goals, 1 assist

Player A will be placed above Player B because they have provided more assists.

What is a percentile ranking?

Your percentile ranking shows how you compare to other players. For example, Top 10% means you are performing better than 90% of participants.

Can I use PredictaMatch on mobile devices?

Yes. PredictaMatch is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

What happens if I miss a prediction?

If a prediction is not submitted before kick-off, you will not receive any points for that fixture.
